McKenna's Story--Chasing the dream of being a World Champion Martial Artist

McKenna's thoughts behind her dream of one day becoming an ATA World Champion Martial Artist in Taekwondo. She has a message for all in similar situations that defeat is not the end of your story, it's just the reason behind the next chapter in a book still being written. This young girl is truly an amazing person both in and out of the ring.

This is the only thing I could think of right now to keep me busy and to reflect back upon how much my dad really meant to me. I know he loved me and was proud of me. I don't have many pictures of him in my possession but these are the favorites of the ones I have. I miss you dad....love you so much.

This was amazing to watch. I can’t imagine the amount of effort, hours of rehearsal and just plain sweat and hard work that went into creating this form. I couldn’t believe that that many people could be so co-ordinated and with weapons too!! How did no one get injured?? Kudos to you my friends ❤
If a GUY goes out on the ocean....it has to be to kill stuff....
Badass!

Didn’t I see this on ESPN cheerleading, Mcdojo’s
Don't mind me just trying to get inspiration for a new XMA form
can non-ATA members do these tournaments? i’m unaffiliated and i would love to do ATA tournaments
ATA Tournaments are for ATA members only, however Team eNVy also competes in Team Demonstration competitions in open martial arts circuits like The League Martial Arts and TKO League. You should look into those as well. Both organizations have regular tournament seasons that end with Championship Tournaments at the end of their seasons. Very fun to do and have multiple Traditional, Creative, Extreme, Musical, non-musical , and team divisions to compete in. You don't have to belong to any one organization to compete since they are open to all forms of martial arts. Here are links to both: theleaguema.com and www.tkoleague.com/
I also do the same from the same academy in Argentina greetings
Beautiful tribute! Grateful for your dad and his service. Humbled to be a small part of this tribute to him. Thanks for your message. You lifted my spirits and I really needed that. Much love and aloha!

@@urfav_abbyb well i used to
I live in Vegas and saw it that night too from the Taco Bell parking lot at Tropicana and Fort Apache. I remember it breaking into like 3 pieces that all appeared to fall all the way to the ground. We later watched the news and it said satellite crash or space debris or something like that.
Hey, that's my daughter!!!
❤ this!
I'm so proud of Team Envy! They're are truly awesome and best at what they do! They work hard and love what they do! #1 Champions in my eyes! Congratulations!
Awesome Job Team eNVy! Congratulations!!

GAVIN OMG!
Go Tyler
OMG I hate it went people just keep doing repeat round kick over and over again. I got beat in a tournament because of that.
Santa Claus is coming☺😊
Hi, I'm a level 1 corner judge myself so I looked at this from the perspective of one. When a drop occurs, the center judge should stop time, and the three judges should discuss the drop (similar to a warning). Most often, drops are pretty obvious. At that point, you would award one point to the competitor who didn't drop, and then call to see if any points should also be scored for the actual technique (however, the person who dropped can't score points, but the who didn't could as they may have "disarmed" their opponent.) Here's the actual text from the ATA rule book. www.atarules.com/index.php?title=COMBAT_WEAPONS_SPARRING_COMPETITION#Dropped_.26_Broken_Weapons
So am I correct in thinking that in this particular incident the the scoring and judging procedures were not handled correctly? I'm referring to the first drop situation as I believed the rest was handled correctly.
Jeff Pickett Also, on another note, the video from start of match to the point the time keeper stopped the fight was exactly 2 minutes. There were three drops and time was never called at all during the match for any of the drops.
How I w.ould have handled it would be to have time stopped after each drop, even if I wasn't 100% sure there wasn't a drop (in my experience though, it's really clear cut, I've never seen anyone fumble and then catch it or anything like that). While time is stopped you can discuss the drop and if any other points were scored. It just takes too long to figure all that out while time is still running.
Yee Haw?!? Is that what he said before he scored his last point? Too funny.
So proud of him.
